I have been having an erratic issue with a Symphony on classic Nitris on Vista 64. When outputting to tape, periodically the embedded audio channels (only affects the embedded) will jump tracks or turn into a low level buzz. Is anyone else seeing this? There is a such a small group of people on this setup that it is under Avid's radar at the moment.

Nothing like that seen here.
We're running Symphony Classic Nitris on an XW8200 with Vista Biz 64. 8 gigs ram, Quadro FX3700 (driver: 182.65).
We've been doing a lot of multitrack layoffs recently (5.1, Dolby E, etc) at various frame rates (24, 25, 23.97) and the systems been rock solid.
Could be a Nitris Hardware issue?

Ian

Of course I should have added that we're running Avid Symphony v3.5.1
Sorry,
It sounds like a hardware issue to me. Try programming the Avid Nitris DNA/Classic hardware again.

Done that already. I've heard some DS guys are having the issue also. Apparently we have to wait on a new firmware update. :-(
Interesting! Since DS is not qualified to run on Vista 64, I am curious what you know that the rest of us don't?
Cheers,
Jef
Haven't experienced this problem at all (8400 12 Gig ram SN 3.1.1). Pre Vista upgrade I would frequently have that problem in reverse (when digitizing) and had to fix with restarts, but post upgrade it's been working fine.

This is with 3.5.1
I've got a handful of classic nitris on Vista 64's that I haven't received any calls with problems like that. Doesn't mean the problem didn't happen and the operator figured it out (yeah, right...they're not gonna call?) but it's nothing I've heard of. All of our systems are gonna be in the 3.0-3.1 realm, though. Not 3.5. Did you experience this issue prior to 3.5?

AvidHammer:Did you experience this issue prior to 3.5?
No. And I can still bounce back since I keep the old system drives in the computer and the problem goes away. I also didn't see it with 3.5 on XP.
Was this issue ever sorted out? I'm running a classic nitris/vista 64/3.1.3
but been considering going up to 3.5 for the improved subcap features.

Not yet. It is still happening to me and I am on the most current version of software.
