Need an advice on a technical problem

I own an Avid Aderlinane HD, Media Composer it has recently created a technical and very annyoing problem.  The problem is as follows, whenever I work on a new or existing project and then I start to capture new footage or import it from a DVD or a CD, and later as I shut the project and software down or minimize the window, the software displays an error that says something like "OMF Files Missing".

As a result I have to relaunch the software once again and when I do so I see everything that I had recently done on the timeline or grabbed "offline", I tried relinking it but without any hope.  I saved my new project on different drives or folders but still the samething happens over and over again.

Now my question is, first of all how can I solve this issue and secondly is there any hope of retrieving the footage I had spent hours capturing?

Thanks for reading my post and hope someone out there can help me out and as soon as possible.

We need to know what version of the MC you are on and also what your hardware specs are.

What storage are you using? How is it connected? What CPU? What OS?

Quit out of Avid.  Trash the 2 media database files in the folder "OMFI MediaFiles".  Both files start with "msm".  When you launch Avid, the media files will be automatically scanned and indexed, and these 2 files will be rebuilt.

    Report back.

Obviously, you are using the OMF media format. Can you please tell us how many .omf files are in your OMFI MediaFiles folder (right-click on the folder -> "Preferences")?
