    I run into this limitation all the time.

    On the first day of a documentary project I like to take all the digitised rushes from the media tool, sort them by tape number and just drag them into a timeline. I then make subsequence those out to smaller timelines that I then sync pull. Small niggle but it would be cool if avid fixed this.
