Not everyone wants to author a fully featured DVD with chapter points. menues. subtitles etc.Sometimes all that is required is a quick output of a sequence in MC to a DVD with nothing added. Here is one workflow which is simple and requires only 4 easy steps.
Good luck!

Raoul,
I am sorry, but I have no knowledge of Macintosh systems at all.I know that the Tutorial files are in Flash - flv format.Adam Kranitz of Avid can almost certainly give you advice on this. But the USA is having a long holiday weekend just now and probably won't see your post until Tuesday. In the meantime I suggest you post something on the MC - Mac Forum.Give them a link to the Tutorial and ask someone to try it out for you.Maybe they can view it and advise you how to proceed.
Sorry I can't be more helpfull.
Hi Douglas - nice quick workflow - Thanks. One question:
Why do you select Avid DV Codec and RGB - the HD footage is 701 - does Avid DVD require this step?
Thanks,
Steve
I have no idea, Steve!
Seriously, though, I tried some experiments with the settings

The RGB gave me more vibrant colours, The Avid DV codec was by force of habit. It doesn:t actually seem to affect it one way or the other...... in the cases I described.Good luck,Douglas
Thanks, Douglas. I'll experiment with this myself to see the difference. I'd also like to see the difference when using an external encoder like TmpGEnc - sometimes I've noticed the videos looking washed-out and have suspected this was due to a mismatch between color schemes.
Are you using Safari as your browser? It only works on my mac with Firefox.
Tinam
I watched it on a PC. It worked fine.
Thx
Raoul
Very imperssive!
Once my file is exported from MC 3.5.4, it goes through a different MPEG encoder and burner.
No doubt you get excellent quality since you begin with HD. The head of OMNI who markets Cinema Craft advised me a couple of weeks ago the HD to SD quality is really excellent.
Thank you for sharing your work with us.

In order to make a QT Reference, you have tou change the project format to 25i PAL (for europe), even if the footage is 1080i50, otherwise you can't make it.
Is this correct, or is it some kind of bug? I had the same problem on 3.0.2 and 3.5.4 of AMC on PC.
sometimes, i have some drops in frames which a long dissolve effect takes place, even after the video & audio mixdown procedure. but i solved the problem today. just edited the dissolve effect from 30 frames, to 32 frames, and partially replaced the new video mixdown!
always do some test before long time procedures like this one...

Hello Helidon, and welcome to the Forum.
As I am working with NTSC I cannot really give you an answer to that question.I would suggest you post this question over on the regular Media Composer - PC forum. There are more people looking over there, so you should get an answer I think.
Good luck,
Douglas
