Hi there...

I'm running my system since January 5th, without any problem, so far. I got: 32TB ISIS Storage on 4 crates, two InterplayEngines (clustered), two indexers, two SysDirs plus a General Purpose Server running Interplay Transfer cache.

I got 15 editor clients, 13 NC 7.0.5 and two Adrenalines. 12 Ingest AirSpeeds and 4 for playout.

Since last week, the editors keeps hanging randomly, apparently without any logic reason: during their daily reboot, the NewsCutter's splash screen freezes at the "Loading Java Virtual Machine" message. It can be there about 20 mins, and suddenly, everything is fine.

Also, if I got two "semihanged" PCs, both starts NC at the same time, thus, I don't think the problem is local; I mean, if the two computers resolves the same problem at the same time, the problem don't seems reside on the PCs, wich by the way, are HP 8200s.

Nothing was recently installed nor modified.

Any ideas?

Since you have so much equipment this is might be better served by calling the broadcast line and having a tech work you through this.

OK, what version of Java is installed on these edit clients? Also, if you run Interplay Health Monitor, what are your results?

Absolutely... it seems to be caused by the setup of a second DNS machine within the domain; the problems appeared while the server was being configured. That was our engineering boys doing this kind of installations w/o being all the careful they should be... and they even didn't warn us .
