Hi, I'm using Media Composer 3.0 and I'm transcoding some 1:1 OMF SD footage to DV420 onto a drive. My drive is down to 60GB left but I get an "insufficient space for a file [insert file size here]" error on one of my disks when trying to transcode a tape (approx 13GB) over. 60GB is 5 times the amount I'm trying to transcode over, so I don't understand why it's stopping me.
I filled up a 1TB drive before this and got the same error when it got down to 50GB, so that's when I moved onto the next disk. But I think I can finish fitting the footage from this project on this last disk and don't want to use up a tiny bit on another disk when I can get past this error.
So my question is: Is there any way to change the minimum allowable free space on a disk in Avid? It's my assumption that there is something stopping recording when free space gets down to around 50GB.
Thanks!
Will
did you check your windows disk allocation quota? And to be able to give some answers we need details on your hard and software configuration. So please fill out your specs in your profile

Also, and this goes for all computer systems, not just editing, you shouldn´t use more than about 80 % of your discs, your sys needs the rest of the disc free to work well.

give us the iso files back in Avid Dvd please, no gi files for me
I agree and it seems like the majority of issues I've encountered with computers over the years are due to simply not having enough disk space for the system to write temp files, etc.
