Is anyone using the MojoDX with MBP? Considering one for my MBP and just wondering how it performs?
Is HD possible with it. The specs seem to indicated HD will not work with MBP using the MojoDX.
Any feedback is welcomed.
Thanks in Advance!

Hi... I'm editing HD on a MacBook Pro without a Mojo of any sort. Just using my cinema display to monitor, which I know isn't perfect, but everything is working fine. I use external SATA drives. Import up to DNxHD 220 and edit with no hiccups.

I'm assuming that you would use one of the magma chassis for the card. I have to say, I'd be surprised it if it worked well. Also, capturing DNX needs an 8 core mac so that little MBP would be huffin' and puffin'.
I say MC Soft and or an SDI mojo and let someone at a post house capture your footage into a compressed HD format. Use that card slot for an eSata card for media drives.

How do you got to tape with this or do you just author on DVD?

Oh-I just assumed it came with a notebook card.It dosen't come with a notebook card?
Yes, I just output to uncompressed QT, and have a place that specializes in these things output to whatever the client wants.
And... what am I missing... my MBP doesn't seem to huff and puff at all (DNxHD 220 notwithstanding). 2-cores only, as far as i know.
I'm probably not doing something the rest of you are.
Thanks Hamilton, that helps.
But I'm wondering if anyone from Avid can confirm that the Mojo DX will not work with a MBP 2.6 ghz/4 gigs of RAM? HAs any testing been done with this box and notebook computers?
Thanks
Avid lists that MojoDX works with Macbook Pro from 2.16Ghz Intel Core Duo upto (tested) 2.53 Cored 2 Duo.

So that means it comes with a notebook card?
That's a question for someone who already has one.. or an Avid (re)seller.
I'm seeking absolute verification, but if I recall correctly, Avid will swap out the standard pci-e card for the appropriate laptop card upon request. I do not run any laptop based systems, so I'm not %100 sure on this one. Thus, I've asked someone upstairs and will report back when I hear for sure.

Thanks Todd,
I would probably be interested in running it on both computers. Guess I would have to purchase an extra
card regardless.
1. To use the Mojo DX with the MBP laptop, you have to buy the ExpressCard from Avid for about $400.
Here's what it says on the Avid site:
<The following card slots are required for connection to the Avid Mojo DX hardware:
Jlash is right.....
You must purchase the laptop connection card separately and there isnt a swap program I am aware of at Avid. I checked.
I am going to touch base again with marketing and see if hey can make this a tad clearer on the web site.
