Link 119, was my first step into the world of SD and HD on Avid's Open Timeline. It was not exactly what many of you have been asking foir. But today I think I finally got a workflow together to output the mixed timeline as SD to a digital clip which, in my opinion, gave equally good quality to the original HD and SD material.I will try the whole workflow again tomorrow - to double check things. If all is well, I'll try and get it out as a Tutorial before the weekend.

Douglas
Over a week and no new Tutorial!
Am I slipping? NO, I don't think so. After a week with other assignments I am now in the process of getting to grips with 2 or maybe 3 tutorials on KeyFrames in Effects. Those little red/pink triangles are sometimes hard to keep under control.............
Sounds good, I need a little info on keyframing. Anyone got some tut on color correction?
dew:Anyone got some tut on color correction?
I can give you a quick "rule of thumb" for color correction - figure out what your problem color is and where on the luminance scale it resides (blacks, midrange, whites) and use the appropriate vector circle to go in the 180 degree opposite direction of the problem color.

Anything here to help you get started?

It is for Xpress, but I think it may be similar in MCRegards,Douglas
I enjoyed your keyframing tutes, Douglas. I wonder if you could provide a tutorial describing how to make use of the keyframing modes (apply to active parameter, apply to all, apply to open group, apply to active group). Believe it or not, I find a couple of these are confusing to use (perhaps I should read the manual ).
Thanks for the great work!

Thank you, Steve.
I am planning to do another 2 or 3 Tutorials on Keyframes.I'll see what I can do about your request.
PS. Do you prefer to pay by PayPal or Credit Card?
Your a funny man....
I'm in the process of playing with keyframing - Until now I've used them in a pretty simplistic way (which has worked just fine for me) - I see the need to use more sophisticated techniques in the coming weeks.
Cheers

This post was highlighted in the avid email newsletter. It begs the question, where are the first 100? Is there a link that we can save which would continue to show the full list, in its entirety?
ThanksBill

A good point, Bill
Actually I believe the first 100 were featured in an earlier "Avid in Focus", although at that time there were only 50. So the title may have been "50+ Tutorials"However I have taken your advice and added a link to "the first 100" in the opening post in this thread.Having all Tutorials in 1 place was proving to be too much of a strain on the system, so I decided to break it into 2.Regards,Douglas

Steve, believe it or not I also find them confusing!
But the good news is that I have been reading up on it today, and even started putting together another 3 or 4 Tutorials on them.Possibly 1 or 2 of those tutorials will be online within the next 24 hours, and the remainder by the weekend.Regards,Douglas
