Fantastic news, and thanks for doing so.

There was no mention in the ReadMe as to whether this version is compatible with 10.5.6. Should I assume that 10.5.5 is the highest this version will ever go?

I would. A shame since Apple just released 10.5.7, which presents some of us with a dilemma.
I know I just saw that. I am trying to avoid doing the 2 partition thing (2nd partition for FCP with an up to date OS). Things run fine for both right now so maybe I can hold off for awhile longer.
So if I'm running 10.5.6 I should just stick with version 3.0.5? Or does it not really matter? Not sure what 3.0.5 is meant to support up to ---- didn't realize it was a big issue. Thanks.

Avid Media Composer 3.0.5
If you are referring to MC 3.5 then yes that supports 10.5.6 otherwise any flavor of version 3 before 3.5 requires 10.5.5. Make sense? In short versions: 3.0.5-3.1.3 are only supported on OS 10.5.5 and below.

A couple new bugs introduced with this release:
When I open an old title, the background is black. I have to toggle the V button to see the underlying image. Then, when I save the title, the text is shifted up by one "tic." If I forget to reposition it, I have to open the title again, nudge it down, and re-save.
Also, something new... often after I work in the Timeline, I get the shutter style (Maltese Cross) spinning icon for about a quarter second before it plays. That's not terrible, but I've just not seen it before.
I've got the black background title thing too.
It's being investigated by Avid. Stay tuned.
Another potential bug with this version:
After installing it as an upgrade to 3.0.5, I now get an error when trying to launch the Audiosuite window that says, "
I had to do a complete uninstall and then reinstall the software to make the Audiosuite plugins work again.

well... 2 observations
1- one system auto updated to 10.5.7 before i could stop it. that system is sunning MC soft 3.1.2 and seems to be fine.
2- i have another machine running MCsoft 3.5.1 on 10.5.6. a birdie told me that 10.5.7 is qualified for MC 3.5.2,
but 3.5.2 isn't on avid's d/l center... wassup wit dat???
Have you run into any other issues using QT 7.6 and Leopard 10.5.6?
I would really love to see Avid qualify these.
