Re: MC 3.5 audio scrub bug

    Sasquatch:

The read me file with release of 3.5.4 it identifies the audio scrub bug, I am supprised to hear that it is not actually fixed!

None of the 3 versions of the 3.5.4 readme refers to THIS audio scrubbing bug. Bug Number: UDevC00118578 is not the same problem.

    Sasquatch:

I waiting for an opportunity to install 3,5,4 at the moment but once I have I will let the group know if it has any effect.

Versions 3.5.4 and 3.5.4.3 have this issue.

    Sasquatch:

Did everyone follow the correct procedure ie uninstalling the digidesign drivers manually ect?

This only affects the ability to use the Audiosuite plug-ins if the Digi Drivers don't update correctly. However you should NOT uninstall the Digi Drivers if you are co-installing with ProTools 8.

This looked like good discription of the issue I was experiencing.

    Bug Number:

This is a different bug. This thread's bug effects all hardware and software only versions. It is about scrubbing slowing down to 1/5 of normal speed when CAPS LOCK is on.

Re: MC 3.5 audio scrub bug

    Ok thanks Larry.

Somone working in tech support said it was the most common enquirery, so I would have thought that it would have been given a high priority.

Re: MC 3.5 audio scrub bug

I read there's MC 4.0 coming out. I wonder does this mean I have to buy new version of MC (where this bug is hopefully fixed) or the second option would be go back to 3.1.x. Can anyone comment is there any other releases coming out between 3.5.4 and 4 to get rid of this bug?

    Tnx,

Re: MC 3.5 audio scrub bug

Now MC4 is out and in use, can anyone tell me if they have fixed this annoying bug? My 3.5 system is unusable due to this so I am forced to keep using Avid Liquid.

That's great. I got an upgrade (3.5) I can't use and now have to buy another upgrade (4) to be able to use MC sensibly again.

I bet Avid won't help any people (without a service contract) in this situation as v3.5.9 "is expected to be the final update to the Avid Media Composer v3.5.x."!!

BTW, since I've upgraded to Nitris DX hardware in place of Adrenaline, I have a new option in timeline settings just above "scroll while playing" called "fast scrub". It gives liquid smooth performance during audio scrubbing.

According to the cats in tewks, the 2 bugs are fixed:

UDevC00130757 - Fixed in 4.0.3 (live now) and 3.5.4.10 (just use 3.5.4.13 which will be posted to the patch site soon).

UDevC00108418 - Fixed in 4.0.3 (live now) and 3.5.9.1 and 3.5.11 which are on the patch site now.

4.0.3 JUST went live 45 min ago.

Re: MC 3.5 audio scrub bug

Has anyone tried these patches? Is the audio scrub bug fixed? I'm at the end of the big project, bit cautious to test it for a couple of weeks...
