Spent the day upgrading our SN "Classic", which had been on a xw8200 WINXP 32, to 3.5.1 on a new xw8400 w/ Vista Biz 64. After battling to keep the dongle on 1st open, the splash page continued a bit, then rec'd the follwing error message: "Problem Connecting to Hardware: EssentialResourceNotAvailbleError".

The Nitris base & codec boards are in slots 5+6 resp., the green light comes on the Nitris HW. I have not seen, or been prompted for any Nitris HW flash - we're upgrading from 1.8.3 -- but perhaps that's normal. I reseated the Nitris boards (though they seemed well-seated)...nothing. I uninstalled Symphony, and reinstalled...nothing.  There is the ATTO Celerity FC card in slot 7, and that seems happy (well, almost -- the Facilis Terrablock does not yet re-recognize our volumes, but they are there and the storage is a different problem.) Graphics are the FX 3500 on the 169.47 driver, Vista duly stripped as per other contributors and Avid suggests, have WMplayer 11 & QT 7.5.5, etc.

Any thoughts? Thanks in advance!

Solved - bad install, BIOS, and drivers. No help from Avid tech support (just to vent here) but hours wasted on the phone w/ them.
