Hello Avid friends,
Can any MOJO SDI Mac user report a successful upgrade to MC 3.5?
My Mojo SDI on a MacPro 2x3ghz running 10.5.6 was having serious video stutter on playback of NTSC SD (30fps) Sequence or Clips in source or record monitor. (see my earlier post) Had not tried any HD or 24p projects. This was a Mojo only problem, software only worked fine.
I downgraded to 3.1.2 and PROBLEM SOLVED. Mojo SDI plays fine.
A friend at Keycode Media in Los Angeles (a major AVID dealer) reports there is already at 3.5.1 release though I can't see anything on Avid website.
I will remain at 3.1.2 until I can confirm Mojo SDI works at 3.5.x.
Mojo users please report in, thanks!
Greetings:
I'm a contented Mojo SDI/Avid 3.5.x user, and report to all that it's my best upgrade experience so far. The P2 implementation along with the memory fix for my beloved 30" monitor were particularly welcome. I do not experience the stutter you report. Perhaps a close look at my system specs will shed some light on the matter. Could it have anything to do with monitor settings? I'm just spitballing here...

Thanks, what are your monitor settings?
When you say you have a "G5", you mean MacPro, the new 8-core? Those have not been officially approved by Avid yet but maybe the 8-core machines solve the issue. I am using a standard MacPro 4-core which is supported.

OK well those aren't settings. That's what type of monitor you are using which is irrelevant.
Anyway, AVID techs all over LA Post companies are saying STAY AWAY FROM MC 3.5.
It is a disaster. I will wait for a few revisions beyond 3.5.1
I'm at MC 3.5 with a analog Mojo, MacPro 2x2.0 with 4 GB's ram. I go between Sd and HD (though there's a bug if you output component, it defaults to composite when you switch)
not settings? I posted the current monitor resolution settings as encountered in the OS preference pane. To which settings do you refer? I'd be glad to post them.
And in our case, the monitor and settings are vitally relevant to this upgrade... the memory leaks and interface wonkiness pre-3.5 while attempting to use the 30" display were intolerable. And I said so on these boards.
I'm very grateful for the 3.5 'disaster' that I use here (just north of LA) that effortlessly brings in my usta-be funky MXF, works fabulously with my irrelevant 30" Cinema Display, has no memory leaks any more, and has essentially crushed the bus error and segementation thread wonkiness of the past.
If it doesn't work, I'll say so. (do a search) 3.5 works every day, every time here in this shop. That's all I'm sayin'. I'm not on Unity, and your mileage (installation) may vary, but the way we've got things installed here, 3.5 is a vital update that allows us to get it done w/o angst or anxiety. No disasters here.
dang! just read the 3.5 'errors on startup' thread... that bites. gotta count my blessings!
EDIT: This just in from the 'errors on startup' thread...
"going through ALL the steps outlined by Todd (BLKDOG) seems to fix the problem with bus errors and segmentation faults. There are a couple files that the uninstaller does not get. Second (my bad here) is that before doing an uninstall/reinstall, DEACTIVATE the software."
