OMF EXPORT ERROR - please help

I'm having a problem exporting an OMF 2.0 file from Avid Xpress DV 3.5 Mac.

I am trying to embed the files.  I broke the cut up into <2GB sequences.

When I hit export, I get the following error message:

    Assertion failed: readSize <=fileRemaining

    File: FileInputOutput.c, Line : 602

When I click "Debugger" it says:

    Exception:  "DISK_EOF"

Any suggestions?  My sound editor is waiting for the export and I'm really pulling my hair out over this one!

    Thanks

    sn

Is this an audio only OMF?

Try making an audio only sequence   (duplicate the sequence and delete the video tracks)

Put the audio only sequence in a new bin and consolidate this sequence with appropriate handles

Create the embedded OMF from the consolidated audio only sequence.

Thanks for the continued dongle support

    Thanks for the reply.

Yes it is an Audio only OMF.  But I don't want to consolidate the sequence if possible because I would like to keep the audio effects without rendering them.

I will try putting the audio only sequence in a new bin though.  Maybe that will do it.

That is why you make a duplicate sequence and consolidate that. Your original sequence is not touched by this workflow.

    Sorry, to clarify:

I'm outputting to ProTools and would like to have the audio effects appear in PT but unrendered so as to keep the original production tracks unprocessed.

Still dont understand. Consolidate does not render effects. Assuming you are coming into Protools with Digitranslator you have all sorts of options as to what to keep or render when you open the OMF as a session.  You may get even better options using an AAF rather than an OMF assuming the Protools version is less than 4 years old (V6 or later from memory) and will handle AAF's

Thanks for the continued dongle support
