Avoiding promote color fx in 3.5

My clients have just purchased a new MC running 3.5 their other MC run 2.7x.

Is there any way to stop a sequence being promoted when opening on the new avid. Most times we just want to add extra footage without any color corrections and then be able to playout on any of the Avids without promoting or remaking color corrections.

Hi, I believe this is because of the new options in the effect. All it does is duplicate the timeline with "promoted" in the name and leaves your original intact. You would then have to re-render any of those effects if required.

And there is of course the "Demote" function, in order to create a sequence that is compatible with earlier revisions.

In case anyone is looking for it in vain, it comes up when you right-click a sequence (see picture).
