double click a track to enable its selection button

How about rather than always having to move all the way to the track selection button to click it, let us turn the button on and off simply by double clicking anywhere on the track itself?

That would interfere with double clicking on segment effects to reveal nested contents.

Only if you are in segment mode. Otherwise it could turn on/off a track.

    Map the keyboard.

I have a named keyboard settings using Shift F2 ... shift F9 for equivalent audio track numbers and shift 1.... shift 9 for equivalent video track numbers.

Re: double click a track to enable its selection button

Thanks for the workaround suggestions but there are times when I don't want to have to hit a key to enable tracks. And it's true, you have to be in red or yellow arrow mode to have a double click open up effects.

In normal editing mode, a double click on a track does nothing. Why not have it do something useful? BTW, I would define a double click in this case not by time between clicks, but whether the position bar has moved.

Actually it would be better if a double click selected only the specific track and turned off the others rather than just toggling the button.

I agree with Postmark on this - but the behavior should follow the same as for the Track Light panel. If you hold the Control Key down it inverts all the tracks, if you hold the Shift key down it enables/disables all the tracks.
