I have at least 2 drives internal drives, that I know have avid media files on them, however, when I view the drives from the media tool, the files are not there! I need to clear these drives out completely. I can see the files when i navigate to the MXF folder on the hard drive, but I know I shouldn't delete from there. What do I do?
Thanks!
What is your folder hierarchy?
Does it look like X:\Avid MediaFiles\MXF\1\(files)?

From your numerical folders inside the MXF folder, delete the two files that identify by type as "MSM Media Database". On re-launch, the system will detect the missing files and build new ones at the "Initializing Media Streams Manager" stage. This should restore the display in the media tool.

When you go to the Media Tool, Are you selecting to show all drives and all projects?

Yes, that's what it looks like.
"... I need to clear these drives out completely ..."
Then why not just delete the entire "Avid MediaFiles" folder structure?
