My playback it 100%.But is anyone else having timeline issues with the new software? When I drag across ,my timeline normally it's pretty fluid in my composer window. Not it’s only a fluid drag if my DNA box is unlinked from the software. If it’s on the refresh rate on the composer is quite slow and staggered. And sometime it won’t update at all on my main screen unless I hit play.Maybe its me or a conflict but I'd appreciate it if people tell me how there's is performing.

Is your footage on a RAID? I've had quite snappy, almost meridien-like response w/the 3.5 software update.

Bill and Fish:Are either of you seeing any hesitation or stuttering of video through the capture tool on the Composer monitor, either before or during capture? Are you having any problems with the capture tool overlay looking like this:

Bill: my media IS on a Raid..and before 3.5 worked very fluidly. Now—not so much (as I have indicated). No Larry.....I do not get your screen issues when capturing...
It's important to note (I think) that my playback works seemlessly. It's strictly a timeline scrubbing issue.
And (again) it does not happen if I switch off my connection to the DNA box.
Its really kind of a pain.
I notice in my Activity monitor I'm getting a few RED errors:
UserEventAgent (not responding)
coreaudiod (not responding)
ajaxserver (not responding)
Um..one more thing...
Since I think it's a communication problem between my DNA and the software..I'm thinking DNA issues.
I noticed when I did my install there was not firmware upgrade to my DNA box...is there supposed to be? If so..how do I force one on the box after install?
Okay..the "Not responding" stuff in my Activity Monitor seemed to be related to zapping my PRAM. After doing so..all that went away..apparently.
I tried a weird thing. I was in 720p project so I switched it to 1080p and lo and behold it worked a lot smoother. Much, much better than 720p. This despite the fact that all the media was 720p.
or it may have been swithing the downcovert option OFF then on.
Weird, huh?
Fish:
This is very interesting, and an issue I saw as well with our Adrenaline. When you click around in the timeline, it seems like there's a 50-50 chance that the Adrenaline output will refresh, right?
And again to clarify, you are not on Unity, correct?
I'm going to test your 1080p issue as we had the problem with 720p P2 media.

Fish:I also confirm that switching to 1080p solved the sluggishness.
I am forwarding this info to Avid for further research.
Let me know if you see any other instances with this sort of performance.
Hi Kevin...thanks for teh follow up.
If I'm in 720P mode in a 24fp project it's very sluggish performance on the timeline. And when I click through my timeline it doesn't always update. If I which to 1080P in the same project, the performance comes back (albeit a bit loosey goosey) but I can't hit play when I'm at full quality settings because the media isn't optimized for that. So ideally I should be in 720p with a proper timeline.
Also, I reinstalled the old version (3.1.1) for unrelated reasons and the problems went away. But I'm back to the new one again (3,5) and so too are the issues.
Hope this helps!
yes..50/50.
And not on Unity.
:)
Is anyone else having this issue with 720p using a DNA box in 3.5?
keep on this, Fish. this is Important
Yeah I'm getting the same stuttering while scrubbing thing when the DNA (MojoSDI) is attached in a DV 24p project. I mentioned this in another thread. The timeline works perfectly when the DNA is off/unplugged, or if I switch back to 3.1.2.
For now I've downgraded to 3.1.2 to finish my project.
(We're on an Editshare 12-stripe RAID5 NAS system - so there shouldn't be any latency from the storage.)
This problems have not gone away for me. Very, very, very frustrating
