    video capture w/dsr-500

    I have been given a laptop at work with avid xpress pro loaded in it . It I am trying to capture Video from a SONY DSR-500ws Camera. It has a Firewire but the avid does not see any input. Looked around the internet see this has been a problem, but can not seem to find a solution. has anyone solved this? Thanks

    this is a company computer that is used for BPJ i know it worked ok but it can not find the DSR-500 I tried generic dv device and some sony settings but they do not have that setting on the pull down menu. thnaks

    it would help to know what is in the system. For example if the firewire card is from a certain brand we might be able to tell you if it ever will work.. without that info we are as helpless as you.
