    Missing P2 clips

Hi, I'm using MC v. 2.8.0, OS 10.4.11. I've been editing using P2 but yesterday, when I imported clips, some are missing. I double checked them from the original P2 files. I tried copying the missing files manually to another directory: Avid MediaFiles/MXF/2 but when I used the Media Tool, the missing files are still not there. I also tried erasing the media database files. Still didn't work.

Thanks in advance for your help!

When you were editing with the P2, did you "Import Clips" or "Import Media"?  You need to do BOTH if you want MC to keep the media online during multiple sessions.

Import P2 Clips is really just a quickie "browser" sort of thing that lets you identify clips you want to edit with and import that media.  You can edit by just using the Import Clips function, but, as you may have found, if you restart the app, the media is offline.

    Re: Missing P2 clips

    This is my process:

    1. import P2 clips to bin

    2. consolidate (so that all my media are consolidated in my avid mediafiles folder)

That process has worked for me for the past 2 years. But then my problem now is that not all clips are imported in the bin.

Well that is the wrong workflow. You should import clips to bin, then import media. That works every time.
