MXF OP1a DnxHD import and export

    Hello everyone

Thanks to the new Transfer Manager 1.5 we were able to export a DNxHD 120 MXF OP1a file on a FTP server. The funny part is that we could not find any way to import the file back in editor. Ftp Media Browse reports some errors related to MXF parsing right after you select the file that will be imported. The file is the one that we exported with TM

There was a new version of FTP Media Browse released after TM 1.5 was released? How could I get it ? (it is not in the latest version of MC)

Or how could you import such a file in editor?

Whatever the customer has :) [view my complete system specs]

My understanding is this is wrapping the file specifically for a play-to-air server. I don't believe it can be imported back into the Avid. I believe the only OP1a that’s supported for import is XDCAM HD.

It could be usefull also for playout but we were hoping that we could use that for archiving, since it not make sense to keep 1 video file and 4 audio as Mxf atom, instead of 1 mxf with video and audio embedeed.

What can I say, that's the verge of Avid interoperability with ... Avid, you can export dnxhd op1a but you cannot import it.

Re: MXF OP1a DnxHD import and export

    Hi,

You should be able to ingest OP1a files back that are sent out via Generic FTP.

In terms of FTP Media Browse version please use the one that came with Interplay 1.5 (this app is part of the Transfer Client installer) and use the corresponding editor version also.

Can you please send us a screen shot of your Transfer Engine configuration of the profile you are using to do the SendToPlayback? Additionally, if you are able to share the file with us (Digideliver/FTP) - we'd like to take a look at it

    Thanks

Drag the MXF file directly into an Editor bin at the OS level.

Jeff, will Avid split the OP-1a into separate tracks (OP-Atom), or just be able to play it as is.

I just tried dragging an OP1a DNXHD mxf into a bin with 4.04 and all you get is an error message that this operation is not supported.

I guess the only way right now is to go through the TM/Generic FTP service
