    Re: Avid Mojo DX purchase

Avid is simply sealing their own fate on this.

I was just at another editor's place this weekend.  He has Final Cut and Avid.  He loves Avid and says things like "it is designed to cut while Final Cut is more like a graphics program".

But you know what the sad thing is?  He can't monitor HD with his MC 3.0 because he hasn't dropped thousands of dollars on a Mojo DX. You mean his Kona card and Final Cut can ingest HD and monitor HD?  And the combo costs less that the cost of MC alone?  No...it  can't be!

So guess what his last feature was cut on?  Final Cut of course, and he prefers Avid's stability for features.  Was the choice because of HD monitoring?  I didn't ask...but if Avid is losing editors who actually like them, they are so screwed.

Please Avid...give us a cheaper way to monitor HD.  It can be more than a Kona card.  TCO and stability and an awesome application like you have is worth more.  It just can't be $7000.

    Re: Avid Mojo DX purchase

I think this promo was set up as a test to see what kind of response / sales would be generated. From our perspectiuve it was successful. I hope the same goes for Avid.

Hopefully they will be following up with some kind of official program that is worldwide and gets the full support fo Avid marketing, advertising, and web positioning.

As always - I'll keep ya posted!
