Is the Info below still the easiest way to connect my Sony DVW-A500 deck to my AVID-Mojo SDI? Is there a adapter from USB to RS422 that works with Avid so that I don't have to use an RS-232 to RS-422 adapter? If not, which RS-232 to RS-422 adapter do you guys use?
Thanks,
Arnie
From the solutiion database:
The correct adapter to use is the Keyspan 19HS. It can be used with both Mac and PC. It will also work with Media Composer 2.8.x, Symphony 1.8.x, and Newscutter 6.8.x.
Do not use the 28x series Keyspan, it is not frame accurate.
For Mac Leopard use driver version 2.5

We are in the process of upgrading to a new CPU running OS 10.5 and MC 3.5. I came across documentation that we need the USA-19HS so I bought one and the computer and Avid deck config. saw it but, the decks would not work. Now I see this additional note about an adapter? Where can I buy this adapter? I didn't see one on Tripplite's site and they don't sell them anyway, you have to go to another supplier?
Thanks!!!
Nancy
