    Backing up omfi files to DVD

    Hi Id like to know how to identify the omfi mediafiles on the hard drive from amongst loads of others, and copy these so i can back them up to a dvd. and once ive done this, and then re put them back in the folder in the futiure from the dvd backup, will the sequence see those files correctly. Any steers appreciated. Peter

    A Quick way would be to use media tool and consolidate the media to another drive if you have one, then burn those files to DVD.  You can identify the consolidated media by the modification date of the file.

    If it is only the sequence you want then consolidating is an option...

    Add an empty removable drive to the sys, consolidate the sequence to that drive. Once done you will have a omfi media files folder there. You can rename that folder to the project name for future reference. Once renamed you can consolidate another project which will create a new omfi media files folder.. rename as well etc etc..

    Be sure to keep a copy of the project and do not rely on extern discs for 100% they break,, quite fast :)

    Hope this can be a way. there are at least 5 other ways to do this but they all require a much longer reply ;)
