I am on a Dell 520. I installed Avid Media Composer 3.0 and the update to 3.1. The Avid software works great, but the Mojo...not so great. I bought a Mojo SDI. Connected the in and outs, but I get no video to my client monitor. When I powered it up for the first time, Windows installed the driver, but the SDI does not show up as an option for device in the deck configuration. NEED HELP.
When you attached the Mojo for the first time, did the Avid flash the Mojo's firmware? To what port do you have the Mojo connected?

No firmware! When I cycle the power, I see colorbars on the client monitor. That tells me that the Mojo is talking to the monitor, but the computer is not talking to the Mojo. Is this correct? To what port do you have the Mojo connected? I have it on Firewire, no port.
Well, FW is a port so which one is it? Your CPU's onboard port or a FW card?
When you attached the Mojo to your CPU, it should have asked you to update the Mojo's firmware. The fact that it did not could indicate that the CPU is not connected to the unit but you say that Windows did acknowledge that the device was attached?
Also, if you go to your Capture tool, is SDI an option there? In your config tool, the channel should display Avid DNA. Do you see that either in channel or port?
Sorry, I do have the Mojo connected to a FW card. Windows did acknowledge it, and asked to install the driver. I did that, but it never asked for a firmware update.
Also, SDI is NOT an option in the capture tool. Do not see Avid DNA in channel or port.
Check there's no exclamation mark on the device when you look at it under the windows hardware manager. If there is, your driver did not install properly. Right click on the mojo to re-install the driver and all should be well - had a similar problem recently.
Thanks, I'll try that.
SergioGarcia:I do have the Mojo connected to a FW card.
You should not see colour bars out of Mojo but an "Avid Mojo" screen.

Thanks for the info. My FW is NOT a TI card. What are my options? What can I do?
If Your system has a spare PCI slot buy an Avid certified Pyro or a SIIG FW card, or move Your Mojo to a system with a TI card, install MC and flash the firmware, chances are that once flashed the box may work on Your computer too.
My Avid Mojo PCI is up and working now, Thank you all for your help!
ooops, I mean Avid Mojo SDI. Thanks again.
Tell us what you did to resolve the problem for future reference to newcomers. Thank you!
My FW card is not a TI card yet my Mojo works fine. The problem was that the firewire cable at the "Host" end of the Mojo was loose. It was that simple. Everything works perfectly now, however I still don't get the Avid Mojo splash screen or logo at startup. It just produces colorbars. Everything else is perfect though!
Thanks everyone.
