the 'tech note' link leads to the an answers page.  Does a link exist to the specific note to which you refer?

That's it. I guess I'm using Tech note rather generically.

Ben, this problem is specific to Macs only. In and of itself, it should not affect PCs.

Re: **Identified Bug in MC 3.1 installer**

This is an issue with BOTH 3.1 and 3.1.1.

    uninstall doesn't remove it either.

    From README

Fixed in Avid Media Composer v3.1.1
This release included a dongle manager fix and an editor performance issue fix. The
Installing the Software procedure was also updated to include the following information:
(Macintosh Only) If you are upgrading from a previous version of the Macintosh editing
application, remove the Stereo Mixer.dpm and Surround Mixer.dpm plug-ins from the
    following location: Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Digidesign/Plug-Ins
If you do not remove these files, you might experience problems with the AudioSuite Tool.

Nothing? I looked din application support no Digidesign/Plug-Ins/Stereo Mixer.dpm . Could it be somewhere else? I did a search could not find it. When I made a new user I could start MC but as soon as I opened audio suite well you know crash.

     Any ideas ?

Are you certain you are looking in the Library folder that is associated with your User? THe Digi folder has to be in there as it is part of every installer. Make sure you aren't looking in the library folder associated with the system.
