    NAS Storage

has anyone of you a fast NAS storage for backing up your avid media / avid project files / a.s.o.?

I'm looking for a big and fast NAS drive. I was thinking of an 1TB drive with a GB LAN conection. the LAN has a GB switch, so has the avid workstation from HP.

I tested a western digital drive called "WD myBook World Edition II" but the LAN performance was poor - just go a maximum of 30 MBit/sec. to slow to backup large MXF or QT files.

    Any recomandations?

    Re: NAS Storage

I use Naslite from Server Elements as a NAS. I feel this product works great, it allows you  to take an older computer and turn it into a NAS. Add large hard drives and a Gigabit NIC and away you go. I have 3 of these setup. I even use them to capture to when I work with DV25. I set up my first Naslite in 2005 and has been running without issues since then.

Voilà! ^^ Btw., on Tomshardware.com you can find many Tests of NAS Systems. Have a look and see what garbage you would buy without such reviews.
