    DVD it file sizes

Hello I am having trouble with getting my files to DVD it.  After compressing a file into .wav format it is now 2.5 GB.  Once I pull it into DVD it it is 2.5 GB.  Then I pull it into the project and now the dvd project size becomes 12.31 GB.  Why is this happening?  What am I doing wrong?

    Re: DVD it file sizes

Joshua, I'm not sure what the problem is, but here's what I do.  I export out of my media composer as a QuickTime reference file.  I then drag the movie file (I don't worry about bringing in the audio file that is createdbecause it automatically comes with the movie file ) into DVD it.  I make my  buttons, And then compress.

    Re: DVD it file sizes

     Hi Joshua,

What you are experiencing is actually just the strange way DVDit works.

What is happening is - DVDit is seeing your file as non-compliant. This means DVDit wants to transcode the file. If the transcode settings are too high, DVDit shows a file size that is too high.

Here's more detail - By default, DVDit wants to transcode at 8.0mb. Go into the transcode settings to see this. If you lower the settings to say - 4.0, you will see the 12.31gb setting go WAY down. Play with the number until you get it right.

Even with files that ARE compliant, DVDit usually wants to re-transcode. It is just the way it works. There is no way around it!
