Allow changing the default dissolve length setting

It would be nice if we could change the default dissolve speed from the 30 frames to a user assigned amount so it is set that way everytime we start Media Composer 3. Say for example 15 frames (7 frames on each side)?

I know I can change it once I get the quick dissolve window open, but I was looking to save myself some time changing it everytime I restart avid. We tend to find the 15 frame dissolve works better for us and use it almost 100% of the time. That is why changing the default dissolve setting would be helpful to us.

Create your 15 frame centered on cut dissolve

Create a bin called exactly this:

    Quick Transitions

open the effect editor and save the effect to the bin

    Name the effect.

    Save and close the bin.

now whenever you have that bin referenced in your project you will have your 15 frame transition available in the dropdown menu.

this works for just about ANY transition effect. Boris, Sapphire, Avid, as long as it is saved in your Quick Transitions bin and is referenced in your current project.
