Hello, I am working with material shot in 3:1 JFIF resolution on an Ikegami Editcam DNS product. When I try to import, per the instructions, all the video is labelled "wrong format" in the source window and if I try to transcode it to DV25 I get an unsupported resolution error. I have gone to the media creation tab and in the drop down the only JFIF resolition I have available is 15:1s.
This is on my Newscutter XP system. I also have a MC which does have the resolution and can play back the files.
Dell precision 70, 2 GB, nVidia 1400, Newscutter XP 6.6
HP xw9600 2GB, ATI graphics, MC 2.7
Thanks for any assistance,
Jack
I don't think NC can use this resolution. Why not cut it on MC?

I was pondering this a little more while waiting for a response; what if I load the AvidCodecs LE.pkg into my application folder? Would I need to delete my existing AvidCodecs PE first? Is there a way to open up the codecs folder and see what resolutions are in there? All I can see in my Codecs PE is license files. Thanks
Thanks for your response. One reason is that I want to use the NCs tools to load to my client's server. The other is that my MC is academic and I am soon to graduate and looking for commercial work so I got the NC.

Your logic doesn't really make a lot of sense to me.
The upgrade from Academic MC to commercial MC is far less than it probably was for you to get NC. And AFAIK, the only thing that NC offers you that MC doesn't is the NRCS Tool.
But, one other thing you may check your system for is a file named DisabledRes.txt do a system Search and let us know if find it on your system

Thanks for the post Kenton and to Hans. I have searched and do not have DisbledRes.txt on my system. Any other ideas are appreciated.
