Hi all,
Apologies if this is something simple but I rarely work with DV footage and am honestly clueless as to what’s going on here. I captured about 30 mins of DV footage at DV25 411OMF, upon capturing the quality of the video was fine. I have just revisited the project after a few weeks and there is some kind of weird combing on the edge of objects i.e. around the outline of bodies and vehicles etc, it does not matter whether the video is fast moving or not it’s pretty much consistent throughout. Initially I thought it must be some kind of field dominance issue but the interlacing is not across the entire video only on edge of objects – with other formats I would normally see alternate fields flickering across the entire picture but this is not the case. Most importantly the video was playing back fine a few weeks ago and nothing has changed with my system so what’s happened? I really don’t want to have to re-capture the shots as I cant online the video so will have to cut the sequence again. Has anyone got any suggestions? My system spec is below:
MC Adrenaline vers 2.8 on an HP XW 8200,2GB RAM, dual Xeon 3.4Ghz, NVIDIA Quadro FX 1400. Facillis Terrablock storage.
Any help is much appreciated, thanks
Hi,
Can you post a screen shot?

Just to make sure, there were no automatic updates of Nvidia drivers or Quicktime?

Do you mean you don't have the sequence anymore? It's gone from the system and there are no backups in the attic or anyplace you might have backed it up?
good luck,Carl
There is no such thing as a video emergency. My Demo Website
I'll post up a screen shot later today when I go back into the project, I still have the sequence but as I dont use DV I do not have a suitable deck so captured from a PD170 we have knocking round, its tricky enough to get a stable video signal via 1394 nevermind attempt an online, plus there is timecode breaks all over the tape so it simply cant handle it. I do have the pictures though so I guess if it came down to it I could always just match the edit, anyway its interesting you suggest a QT update may be to cause - after I posted I thought this may be a reason - I'll check whether or not this has been updated recently as we had some support guys on site that may of done this! I'll let you all know.
Thanks for all the help!
Check to make sure you are in Full Quality Mode (Green/Green) and not Draft (Yellow/Green) on the bottom of your timeline.
Problem Solved, I updated MC to vers 3.0 which includes support for QT 7.3.1 so I guess it was a QT related problem. Thans for all your help guys, John
