Anybody using Quicktime 7.5 with MC 3.0 ?

I have had huge problems since I upgraded to MC 3.0 (PC) and Quicktime 7.4.5 with renders, exports, imports, transcodes... I read I should install Quicktime 7.5. Has anybody tried this version of Quicktime ? Are there any issues ?

    Hi,

No, you shouldn't.  According to the Version Matrix you should be on 7.4.5.  If you can tell us what sort of problems you're having we might be able to help.

    good luck,
    Carl

     Hi

7.4.5 is the official version, but it crash a lot when trying to change some settings in the QT export.

Some one of this forum wrote that QT 7.5 did fix this problem over his side.

As I was having the same problems I have installed QT 7.5 too and since then I have no more QT export problems. Some more user on this forum has reported that QT 7.5 solved thier problem too.

Try the suggestion on this post.

It worked for us. Now our engineers want to go back to 7.4.5 using the setting posted. I will not be able to get on the box until tuesday but I will post our results.

The link zshad posted is a "safer" alternative for those not wanting to live in the danger zone outside of qualified versions.

live in the danger zone outside of qualified versions.

.- At least in my personal case, I try to never get outside the "qualified" zone.

Unless the qualified version is not working for me.

    And it happens.

And not because the Tech people at Avid are doing a bad job but because they couldn't possibly test a version it didn't exist at the moment of the qualification.

They have to certificate what exists, they have no choice.

But sometimes in extreme cases I can't wait for them to test and qualify the newest version.

OSX 10.5.3 and 10.5.4 sucked so incredibly bad I didn't care if 10.5.5 was unqualified.

Simply put, the situation couldn't be worse.

But turned out that 10.5.5 (the unapproved version) improve the things.

Yes, still sucks but much, much less.

Maybe 3.0.5 will fix Leopard for good.
