I have MC 3.0 on Mac in my studio and Xpro 5.8 on a PC at home. I'm pretty sure brought projects from the mac to the PC before no problems (I've only had the MAC a couple of months). So this time when I opened the project on the PC I got a "._" before the project name. It did open, but there are all these "._" aliases for every bin, which are unopenable and give me a message stating that this is just metadata, and i need to find the right corresponding bin to open. That's all been fine and I can work, but odd that this didn't happened before and it's a pain cause now have hundreds of useless bins to scroll thru. Any suggestions? Thanks
Martha
Martha, do you have any file names with any of the "illegal characters" that PC's choke on? That may be the problem.

no as this project was originally done on the PC and I haven't changed anything or added any new bins since.
On a Mac, files that begin with "." are hidden. These files are not needed on the PC. I just delete them at the desktop level.

Yep, to echo Randall's comments - anytime you have a file moved from Mac to PC you will get "duplicates" with ._ prefixes. These are superfluous on the PC and you just delete them.
In fact, you don't even need them on the Mac if you were to move your stuff back from the PC to a Mac.

thanks all, just what I need to know as I will be moving projects back and forth.
