Our workhorse MC11 IBM Intellistation has recently started locking up with a blue screen and the following error message:
*** Hardware Malfunction
Call your hardware vendor for support
*** The system has halted ***
This is happening more and more frequently. This is an Intellistation Pro Z 6866-6AU running MC 11.0.0.1900 with 512mb RAM.
The problem persists with the 3D and SCSI cards removed (only card left is the video card). I'm relieved that this is the case...maybe pointing to faulty RAM (or motherboard? I hope that's not the case). It can lock up any time from where Windows 2000 is launching onward. I'm hoping that it's a bad RAM problem and have ordered 4 256mb sticks to try.
I know this machine is old but does anyone remember having a problem like this in the past? Thanks in advance. Searching turned up nothing for me.
