Hi,
We've been supplied some MXF files for testing by one of our clients. The codec within the MXF wrapper is IMX, I believe that they were encoded using either Flipfactory or a Telestream Pipeline.
I'm fairly certain we should be able to use these directly in Media Composer, but every time we try to import them into MC (2.8.0, Mac OS X 10.4.9) we see the following error. Can anyone point us in the direction of a solution?
Cheers
Dan
You don't import MXF files.
Just drop them into the Avid folderstructure (Avid MediaFiles>MXF>1), open the media tool...set it to display master clips from your chosen drive...and drag the resulting master clips to your bin.

Thanks, I saw your previous post on how to go about that and tried it, but still no joy, just asks if we would like to quarantine the files (see attached).
Sorry, I forgot to post the original error screenshots, please see below: -
Final one...
Hmm, Ok then...my only guess would be that the files were not re-wrapped properly for Avid. You may have to try re-wrapping them in something like raylight.
They weren't specifically wrapped for anything, IMX/MXF was used by the supplier in order to be useful to a range of NLEs, we have no real problems with another common one (no names mentioned).
In terms of rewrapping, what type of MXF wrapper should we be using for Avid, do they have a spec sheet knocking about anywhere?
