how to record time code in beta tape?

please ans me as soon as possible ?

I use avid HD for editing. client wanted to puts on beta tape and it has to play on right time like

SEGMENT           TC IN                TC OUT            DURATION

    Bars/tone         09:58:30:00          09:58:59:24           30sec

    slate                09:59:00:00           09:59:29:24          30sec

    clock                09:59:30:00          09:59:57:24         28sec

    black              09:59:58:00           09:59:59:24         2sec

    seg -1            10:00:00:00

they wants to start every thing in right code and the ply segment should play at 10:00:00:00. cliet as a beta tape without pre rec timcode tape they told me he can't bring the pre recorded tape. but he wants the thing . so i addjested the beta deck to 09:58:30:00 then i plyed several minutes blank to record the tc then i conected the deak to remote mode then in the digital cut i used remote mode but they needs to start on 10:00:00:00 so first i record the slate clock, black every thing then i stopped the deck then i was waiting the deck to come on 09:59:59:24 then i play the seqvence in project . but one one time it's work but not every time so . we are doing sercus in that recorder time if its fine ok but when it's wrong keep on sercusing every time so i wan't to know

    • How we can recored the perfect tc to tape has they like
    • if we want's to burn tc only in beta tape not play  . How is?
    • when recording to beta deck which are the switches we have to on ?
    • in beta deck in which mode to set audio level ? becase in the deck it becomes hedroom soun it's hiiting higher mark.
    • which precation we have to take when recording?

Please help me to come out of this problems please.

    Hi,

Instead of recording bars, slate and clocks separately, why don't you just make a sequence with all that stuff at the beginning, and lay the whole thing to tape all at the same time using the Digital Cut tool?

    good luck,

Re: how to record time code in beta tape?

First, feed your deck a black video signal, park on filler on the timeline. Set your time code to record run and preset, then set in the number 9:58:20:00. Record about 15 seconds of black on tape to 9:58:35:00. If it isn't already, modify your sequence time code to start at 9:58:30:00. Make sure everything in your timeline time code conforms to your requirements list. Go into deck preferences in your user settings and highlight "Allow assemble edits". Rewind the tape and launch your digital cut tool and set it for assemble edit and to start at sequence time. You're now good to go.
