With Nitris hardware, or Xena/K3 hardware?

Well, I haven't purchased DS yet, so I'm guessing with the Xena cause I'm not going to be purchasing before the end of the year (I believe Nitris shipments stop in december, right?). I need 4 channels in on XLR connections. I don't see why they don't allow Nitris DX to be used with DS.

Xena card has analog in but I'm not sure if it's 4 channels or just 2.

2 analog RCA jacks, 8 xlr AES(4 in 4 out) 16 embedded SDI through the machina software.

    Here's the link.

And the DX hardware wouldn't allow 444 dual link, or broadcast quality up/down conversions

It's only going to be DVCPro HD so I don't need 444... But I do want to work 422 uncompressed and I need the finishing tools of DS (so I don't think symphony would cut it).

You will need an Analog to AES or Analog to SDI embedder. Or even a digital mixer (which is quite common now).

     Okay, thanks.

Now I'm curious about the pricing of DS. Has it dropped since the release of verson 10... or is it still 100k?

Does that include the AJA card and breakout box?

Also, has anyone used the VideoHub from Blackmagic Design? If so, hows the quality?

    Re: DS 10 and Audio

    Hi!
DVCPRO  Decks have audio embedded in the SDI stream into DS or any AVID editor with SDI input so no need for analog audio connection.
