[*-)] Guidance Requested on Nvidia Quaddro FX 1500 M Performance Settings

    Hi Editors:

I am somewhat puzzled as to two groups of performance settings contained in both my MC 3.0 Video Display Settings and in the Nvidia Control Panel itself. I'm hoping those more learned than I can shed some light as to what should be set to what for maximum performance. (??)

    1. In my Video Display Settings in MC 3.0: What should my Open GL Hardware >Preview DVE Effects with be ? I have two choices here....................................................................................

    A) Quaddro FX 1500M/PCI/SSE2

    B) Software Open GL

    2.  Nvidia Control Panel: Adjust Image Settings with Preview. I have three choices.......................

    A) Let the 3D application decide.

    B) Use the advanced 3D image settings.

    C) Use my preferences emphasizing Performance vs Quality.

....Which one do I use ????

    3. Manage 3D Settings: There are several presets listed in a drop down (Nothing for Avid), but one for Softimage, Maya, many others. Which one ???

I find these settings very confusing.

Upgraded to Media Composer from Avid Xpress Pro and now at MC 3.0.5, but had to roll back to 3.0.0. Also added Avid Studio Toolkit 5.7 running on.....HP... [view my complete system specs]

The thing is don't peak too early in life. Currently at MC 3.0

On number 1 set it to your graph card. having it set to software open GL you are passing workload to the processor and with the graph card Avid passes workload to the graphics processer....

on number 2 leave it to setting one unless you are comfortable with tweaking the system settings ... it can boost some performance but can also degrade Wink

3, this is only for 3d intensive apps like the once mentioned in the list .. no gain for Avid ...

OK. Thanks Menno. I will set as advised and see what performance I get.
