    Rendering Effects Problem

    Hello,

I've recently run into problems when rendering effects. Before, after doing one render the clip  would run nice and smoothly. Now, it will playback after the render as if it was never rendered at all. My timeline also highlights for me that it suggest I render it after the fact.

It's a little strange because it happened all of a sudden, for the last week, everything that has been rendered stayed that way, but it seemed to undo itself time after time of rendering.

Does anyone have a solution to this problem? Thank You.

Had the same issue about 2 weeks ago, and rebuilding the site settings files fixed it. In the settings folder, delete MC State, Site_Settings, Site_Attributes. The system will build new files on re-launch. Also, double check your render settings and disk drive destinations for renders.

    Re: Rendering Effects Problem

I think my set up looks a little differently. I cannot find a settings folder in my Finder on the Mac.

What I'm seeing is (under the project folder) a set of AVB files, AVP files, a "statistics" folder", a "trash folder", there is one file called "Project1 Settings.avs", but I cannot open that one like a folder would.

I checked my render settings on Avid as well -- under Media Creation Settings > Render Tab, Video Resolution - Same as Source is checked. Under Effects Processing, it is at Automatic instead of 8 or 16-bit.

In the actual Render settings - Motion Effects Render Using: Original Preference, TImewarps Render Using: Orignal Preference, Effects Quality Render Using: Highest Quality.

The only effects I am primarily using are 1. Fade In-Out 2. Magic Bullet Looks. 3. Timewarp (occasionally, but not yet on this project).

So with all this, it's still acting up funny. Should I change anything else? And how would I access the settings folder >delect MC State > Site_Settings > Site_Attributes?

    Thanks,

    Kevin

     Kevin:

I'm on PCs, so I don't know how it may have been restructured on Macs, but on my systems the path to the settings folder is C:\Program Files\Avid\Avid Media Composer\Settings.

And on your render settings, try changing from highest quality to quality set by effect.
