Title Tool: Can't edit titles without retyping

I noticed that when I use a graphic box in the title tool I can only edit the text once.  Once I save and close Title Tool thats it.  If I attempt to edit the title I simply get the graphic with no text.  However, if its only text I can go back into it and edit the text.

Its kind of annoying to have to retype text constantly.  Would there be a work-around for this?  Anyone know a better way?  Thanks.

Can you explain the method you're using to get the Title into an editable state?

I double click on the title I want to edit while holding down control.

     hmm.

That's how I do it, and I just went through and edited a number of Titles over the weekend.  I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary.

Just so I'm understanding, you are:

    1)  creating a Title with text "abcdef"

    2)  editing the saved title into a sequence (or perhaps just saving to the Bin)

    3)  double-click Title in Bin while holding CTRL to re-open

    4)  changing "abcdef" to "abcdeg"

and you're saying that it won't save like this or that it won't allow you to edit it at all?

On additional Variable to your workflow Kenton...

It looks as if the OP has cut and pasted a graphic of some type into his title.

If that's the case, could you please tell us your workflow for that as well as Kenton's request?

Re: Title Tool: Can't edit titles without retyping

The only time I had this issue was when there was a graphic element in the text.

I created a brand new title, created a box, and then typed text.  After saving I re-opened that text and found that I still had text.

I discovered that the graphic box that was in the previous text that I was duplicating all this time was using a photoshop file.  I could only type the text once.  If there was a spelling mistake I would have to redo all the text.  If I reopened the text file it would just show this gradient box.

I could attempt to recreate this box using Title Tool (all it is is a red/orage box with a gradient and photoshop effect)...so that I don't have this issue anymore.  However, before I do that do you know of a way to include this photoshop file and keep the ability to edit the text?

    Thank you.
