I'm working on a massive project. We have over 1000 hours of footage! Just recently I had some interns digitize about 20 tapes that were donated by a contributing cameraman. I didn't realize before they were digitized that he shot at 32khz instead of 48khz like the rest of the 980 tapes in the project. In playback the tapes look fine, but of course the audio is jarbled. I've tried just a simple "Change Sample Rate" but it doesn't do the trick. Is there anyway of correcting the Sample Rate without redigitizing everything?
shellsabell......
It should work. If you select the clips or sequence in the bin and then right click to change sample rates - it shoud work. What version are you on and what cpu?

Oh sorry! I am running Avid Xpress Pro v5.8.4 on a 1.25 GHz PowerPC G4 w. 1GB RAM.
Thanks for the prompt reply!
I checked and Xpress Pro 5.8.x works the same way as I described above.

Test it on an unimportant file initially as it takes a reasonably large leap in faith the first time you select that option.
Yes, you are absolutely correct! It did not work until I chose to "delete original media". Also, I had to choose "Change Sample Rate" from the hamburger menu in the actual tape bin. Choosing it from "Clip" in the main toolbar did not work.
Thanks for all the help!
Andrew......... good save. I forgot to tell shellsabell to do that one improtant little thing :)
Sorry folks.... moving to fast.
