    Project Setting

I will be editing a film that is shot with the Panavisions Golden Panaflex® GII Camera.  It is a 2 perf 35 mm camera. I will be receiving a dvcam of the telecined material, but I'm not sure what my project setting should be. 24 or 23.98.  I have worked on film shows in the past and 24 worked great though people are tell ing me to se 23.98.  My biggest concern is when Avid wants me to select the "film" box and then I'm suppose to select 3 perf or 4 perf.  Since this is 2 perf and I'm not given that option I'm not sure what to do.  Should I just not select film at all?  How will this effect my key code...or will it?  Can someone explain this to me...HELP!

I have spoken with the camera and telecine house and no one can explain how it relates to the Avid.

I would greatly appreciate any help.

    Thank you

Isn't this the same question as your 2-Perf thread?

Given that this is a help forum, I'm only looking for help. Thanks

It's better to "bump" your previous thread, rather than start a new one.  Multple threads spread the Q's & A's out, and actually make it harder to follow.  Also, you can add clarifications to yor existing thread if necesssary.

Meanwhile, it appears that Avid supports 2-Perf, but I'm not sre to what extent.  Perhaps MichaelP will chime in with a definitive answer.  The Built-in HELP references 2-Perf.  There's also information in this White Paper on Avid MetaData:

    Re: Project Setting

For future reference, multiple postings can actually reduce the amount of help that you get, because people won't respond to several threads from the same user on the same topic.  If you wish to clarify the issue answer your own thread with that clarification.  And if you wish to bring the thread to the top of the forum again, answer it with the word "bump".

Hopefully, having got that out of the way (and having brought the thread back to the top) someone with 2-perf experience will chime in and help you.  As you so rightly say, this is a help forum and there are a lot of very experienced users here who are usually only too delighted to help.  Good luck.

    Re: Project Setting

Thank you for the information as I was unaware of the "bump".  I will make sure I do that next time.

    Thanks for all your help
