Getting rid of Jagged Edges in 3D Warp

Whenever I try to twist an object using 3D Warp using rotation, I always get these jagged edges.  I remember seeing a youtube or avid video talking about 3D warp and how to get rid of those edges, but I can't find it.

Anyone know what I'm talking about and know how to get rid of them?

    Thanks

    Chris

Yea, you have to use the soften controls under the border section.  Avid is terrible at anti-aliasing (actually, terrible for anything having to do with any effects), so you can use a small soften amount to kind of fix the problem.  You don't actually have to add a colored border or anything, so don't touch the width slider.  Hopefully that will fix your problem.

This is something that Avid doesn't do well. When I need to do this I use Boris Continuum Complete, under the "perspective" catagory.

    Two thing to try:

    1) HQ it.  It will make a HUGE difference.

    2) An old trick (before HQ came about) was to turn on the 'Defocus' parameter, but set it to '0', therefore applying no defocus.  For some reason this seemed to improve the edges.

forgive me for asking, but what does it mean to "HQ" it?

Open the effect with the effects tool.  In the bottom right of the tool you will see a button labelled HQ.  Click it and render.
