    Re: 1394 device causing problems

We are on a Unity Fiber Media Network. We very seldom, if ever crash, but we do have two main problems, 1) the system won't let us save bins sometimes. It lets us save a copy though so we don't actually have to lose work, and 2) The system saves every 15 minutes but at the end of the day the timestamp on the file is two hours earlier and we do in fact lose that two hours of work. No warning. No errors. Nothing. The attic also does not save in this period.  Manual saving doesn't help either. Very very frustrated editors at the end of the day or next morning when they realized this happened again.

We are on a Unity Fiber Media Network.

.-I'm also using Fibre channel (Terrablock)

Anyway, 10.5.5 has dramatically improved my MC so far. So has QT 7.5.5.

Way less freezings, less lock ups, better performance overall. And no more lost work and settings.

    10.5.4 was an abomination.

At least in my particular case.

    10.5.5 worked for me.

Okay, so I know none of this is approved, but I'm jumping in.  Should I stay with QT 7.4.5 or go up to 7.5.5.  It seems like everyone trying has either or.  Is there a consensus yet?

    UPDATE

After two days of relatively "low suckness" in my Avid system after I upgraded to 10.5.5, It's started to suck again, but in a different way.

The good thing is that still is keeping my work saved.

But now I'm getting the "Bus error" followed by  "unexpectedly quit " in different variants like 10 or more times a day.

    10.5.5 on MacPro 8core 3.0Ghz with MC3.0 + Adrenaline, no 1394 issue but got 2 other issue.

Memory shoot way high: 60% and Bus Error.
