I am made some animated text in Avid Fx. I exported it like QT Movie with "Animation" compressor, but when I imported it to Media Composer i can see nothing,.... It just show a black screen. After that, I tryed with other compression codec like : DNxHD, Avid 1:1, Avid 100, etc. With those compression is possible see the text, but not with Alpha Channel, It show a black background!!
Any idea how to figure it out??
Thanks !!

Does it come in as a Matte Key? Did you select "Use Existing alpha"? When you tried dropping it over some video, what do you see?

Older versions of the DNxHD codecs did not support alphas. The latest ones, which you can download from the Knowledge Base, do.

Hey Gomez,
Sorry but I'm confused. Why are you Exporting/Importing? Why don't you just drop an AvidFX effect on your clip (from the normal Effects Palette) and then open it up from there?
Ra-ey Q: "How many Editors does it take to change a lightbulb?" A: "Why do you want to change it?"
Ray, I believe he is referring to this. Apparently, "send to" only works in SD.

Actually I didn't see nothing any Matte Key.
Just it show for default Alpha: Staright
What compression codec is the best for this king ok graphics??
Your composition in FX needs to have an associated alpha channel. When you import into Avid, under the import options tab set as following: Aspect ratio = 601 Color levels = RGB File Field Order = Lower (even) field first (assuming your location is Puerto Rico NTSC) alpha channel = use existing. You should wind up with a matte key graphic clip after import.
Oh, and the best compression codec in this case would be same as source.
Larry, now I get ya. I've never used it this way.
