When you shoot documentaries, you come home with hours of interviews and you have to listen to it to find the right bits. Sometimes an enervating drag.
If I push the L key for double speed it's usually too fast to understand what people are saying.
So is there a way to get 33 fps instead of 50? Or 40fps?
If not I'd suggest that as a real improvement, dear AVID people. Push L twice: 33fps, three times: 50, etc. It'd save a lot of time and nerves.
Wat soll dä Quatsch?
There USED TO BE a feature called Mouse Play (I think that's what it was called.). You hit it, and then moved your mouse left or right to get variable speed playback. The Play button in the Composer window showed you what speed you set. Apparently, this is gone now in MC3, and I have to wonder why, as it was vital for the very situation you're describing.
Why remove excellent features, Avid?
Yeah, I remember. it was a bit tricky to use, you had to do fine movements.
I love the jkl keys, so there it would fit best.
So, please - AVID?
I posted a similar feature request a while ago. So: seconded!
USED TO BE a feature called Mouse Play
Mouse Jog/Shuttle. It went away with Adrenaline, but is still functional on Symphony Nitris. Not sure about the DX'es.
It doesn't work as easy as you'd want it to work.
IMHO, the best implementation would be user definable speed increments for J-K-L.
So, who do we mail it to?
BLKDOG?
No need for email, just use the Feature Request Forum on this site.
