Simply importing an .ale into Avid

    Hello,

I thought it was straightforward to import an .ale file into Avid.  I may be thinking of a different kind of file...is this even possible?

    Hi,

Yes, it is.  Open a bin, then select File > Import and in the import dialog box select Shot Log from the File Type drop down menu.

    good luck,

Hmm...I tried this and I'm getting the error "The file format of "IN09A_Trek_Marker_Gauuhk.ale" is not supported for import.  Is there something in the filename that the Avid doesn't like?  Perhaps the underscores?

I have gotten this when one of my assistants made a log in excel and then just changed the suffix on the file thinking that would do it.

Could be the file format is wrong and it's not foooling the Avid.

It'll be the content of the file, not the filename itself... Post a sample of it perhaps?
