Hi,
I've done the enormous mistake to by accident move my project folder to my AVID MediaFiles folder and now I can't get a hold of it. I can open the AVID MediaFiles folder but that's it, can't move, copy or open anything in there. I've been trying to decrypt the AVID MediaFiles folder but that doesn't work. I've also tried to copy it and paste it on the desktop, doesn't work either. Has this happend to anyone before? Please help me! I'm desperate! I got over 2 years of work in that folder!
I'm running my system on a windows Xp service pack 2. Intel Core 2 CPU 6600 @ 2.40 GHz 3.50 GB RAM and got AVID XPRESS PRO v. 5.8!
Please tell me there's something I can do...
Regards
Alex
Backstop is researching Avids Attic Folder. In there you will find backups of most of your work.
First you need to look at the permissions for your Avid MediaFiles folder. You should be able to dump the kitchen sink in there and wash the dishes before getting both the clean dishes and kitchen sink back out of that folder without problems.
The problem is that it's not only the project folder but it's the attic folder as well. I've looked at the permissions for my AVID MediaFolder and de-clicked the write protection box but it still doesn't work. I still get the same warning message; Access denied...
What OS are you using?

XPHome or Pro?
And what if you right click on the folder.
Select properties.
Select security
Select user
Select full Control?
If that does not do it. Select Advanced and edit your permissions
Kenton.VanNatten: XPHome or Pro?
I am interested in that as well

I've tried that and it seems to work until I try to move it. Then it says acess denied again.
Thanks for trying to help, I've been trying so many diffrent things but I can't figure it out.
Here is a procedure regarding setting permissions.

Thank you so much for trying to help me out! I got Windows XP PRO. I've even tried to re-install both windows and Avid but it still doesn't work.
Any ideas?
You should read this post CLICK which Larry earlier posted very very very good. It is your problem looking from a rights point of view. If that all fails then i suggest you get someone out there with a little bit more computer knowledge (no offense!)
