Has anybody taken possession of a Mojo DX or Nitris DX, and working on a MacPro system with MC3?How's it working for you?
Got two of em '99. They are the best thing Avid has ever done. Rock solid and really fast. It's as close as you are ever going to come to Meridian performance again.

Totally superb. My MC 3 Nitris DX is the best system I've ever worked on.

Have 2 MC's with Nitris DX's, a Symphony DX and a couple of seats of MC Soft, and all working fantastic. I skipped over the DNA product line, because I did feel that they were comparable to the Meridiens stability wise. The DX's are the first things I've seen from Avid that come close to my trusty old Meridiens. Especilly for a Version 1 product. I've finally retired all of my old Meridiens. And all of tmy new systems are mac based. I don't regret getting these at all.
We have a Symphony Nitris DX and a MC Nitris DX, all has been running well. No more bus errors.
Is it just me or is NO one buying the Mojo DX? I see no mention of it on the boards and asking our sales guy gets a shrug.
Is the market telling Avid that it is overpriced or are people just not talking?
Curious ....

I'd like to know that, too. Seems to me that when the Black-Magic Broadcast Converter hits the streets, if it could be paired with the Mojo DX, you'd have the equivalent of a Nitris DX, but with two xlr audio channels, for $4K less.
Thanks for the reports on the Nitris DX. Glad to hear they're working so well. But, OTOH, isn't it appalling that some are gleefully reporting parity with a hardware system that's what, twelve, fifteen years old?
You misunderstand, at least, me. I draw a parity with Meridian only in speed and stability. Add to that the vastly superior capabilities of the new software and you have a much more capable NLE than the Meridians ever were. Those capabilites were the only reason we ever put up with the DNA line at all. Now that the speed and stability are back we can truly move forward.
To piggy back off BLKDOG... for me it's just program stability and playback performance that is improved. Exports, renders, imports, etc were way better on the DNA line than the Meridian line. The DX line has really shored up the stability issues and sluggish capture tool and delayed playback issues the DNA line had.
We have two new full blown nitrix dx suites. We originally were going to get one Nitris and one Mojo, but the costs savings didn't make sense to go with a lesser model. Plus if we ever wanted to rent edit 2 out, we want to supply the better system. As far as performance, so far so good on these suckers. Very fast and solid. We'll see how they do after a few projects of different formats and requirements in time crunch situations. Nothing is perfect, but these feel very close.

Avid changed the web site in the past couple months:
"New Nitris DX hardware for SD and HD with comprehensive analog and serial digital I/O as well as multi-stream Avid DNxHD codec acceleration."
And for the Mojo:
"New I/O hardware for SD and HD, with SD/HD SDI I/O and HDMI monitoring"
Notice that the Mojo doesn't promise multi-stream Avid DNxHD codec acceleration. So, it appeart the Nitris is more than just analog I/O.
I don't suppose anybody has any data on how the two units compare in terms of real-time streams?
All information is clear, search these fora. The difference between Mojo DX and Nitris DX is
1. more i/o on Nitris and
2. Nitris has a hardware DNxHD codec.

I've searched the forums and there are 1923 posts returned after searching for "Mojo DX." All I'd like to know is how the two compare in terms of real-time streams, or whether the difference is simply I/O, and the hardware codec on the Nitris.
About i/o read the productions pages.
About hardware DNxHD codec. E.g. read this thread.
The statement above is confirmed in this faq.
