I know I've done this before but maybe not with 10 bit video. I'm trying to output a sequence to DigiBeta with 4 discreet audio channels. When I try I get this error – Exception: ADVAudioDev: Audio underrun on DV device. My output to DV device setting is off. If I just output 2 channels it works fine. Add 3 and 4 and I get the error. In the meantime I'm laying the shows off twice. I'll just insert 3 & 4 on a second pass. Of course this is going to take me twice as long (I have 4 shows to do).
MC 2.8.3
Just an update, it appears that I cannot insert edit to tracks 3 & 4 without getting this error. Any combination with Video and audio 3 & 4 fails.
Are you using SDI audio or AES/EBU? Whichever one it is, try the other and see if it works. You might be able to swap the 1/2 and 3/4 AES/EBU cables, but Avid's help guide seems to think that can lead to sync problems, at least on capture.
I've tried both SDI and AES/EBU. If I swap the cables I won't be able to insert on 3 & 4 with the correct channels. I just tried reloading at 1:1 mxf not 10 bit. Still no luck. I really thought 10 bit might have been the problem. Even stripping the video tracks and trying to record black with channels 3 & 4 doesn't work. I also loaded installed 2.8.4. I know I've done 4 channels direct out with video before but I don't know which version of software I was using when I did it.
Here's a post that suggests rebuilding your media database.
Sorry, stupid forum didn't display my last post for some reason...
I tried that too. Here's my work around - and it's a minute in and still working :) I switched my audio tracks on the time line so that 3 & 4 is on 1 & 2. Then switched my aes/ebu cables as suggested and then playing back 1 & 2 in the digital cut tool and inserting on 3 & 4. The problem only happens when doing direct out and selecting 3 & 4 on the source side of the digital cut tool. Still a bummer cause I have to lay off the shows twice, but better than not doing it at all...
Had to do another layback so I decided to open up a new project. That fixed the problem, maybe something was corrupt in the project file.

If you still have the problem project, you can delete the "(Project Name)settings.avs" file in that particular project folder. On re-launch, the system will detect the missing file and build a new one. Then see if you get channels 3 and 4 working. Just an experiment to test the theory.

Deleting the .avs file worked! Thanks Larry
You're welcome, Ronjohn. Whenever you have a strange issue that's contained to only one project, it's usually because that project's settings file has become corrupted.
