    Downconvert output different in Symphony...

Just upgraded to SymphonyDX from AdrenalineHD.

On the AdrenalineHD, Setting the Video Output Tool to Downconvert would output downconverted SD AND still output HD at the same time.

The SymphonyDX seems to turn off the HD output when set to Downconvert in the Video Output Tool.  Am I missing something?

Nope, that's the way it's working here too.

There's still value in the classic Nitris.

Interestingly enough, we've got someone running both DS 3.0 and DX 3.0.

    DS is on an 8400 (8 X 2.33 GHz), 3500, 4Gigs of RAM, 3GB batch file run.

    DX is on an 8600 (8 X 3.0 GHz), 3700, 4 Gigs RAM, 3GB batch file run.

The DX (faster comp.) renders a short sequence in 7 minutes.

The DS (slower comp.) renders the exact same sequence in 3:45 min.

Codec Board/Base Board processing?  That's the only thing I can come up with.  But yeah, there's still value in the classic Nitris.

What outputs are you using?  We can monitor HD through the HD-SDI out and SD downconvert -- through the analog component out -- simultaneously.

Remember, Adrenaline had separate HD and SD component outs...the DX boxes only have one, so it has to switch depending on how you are using it.

No, the SymphonyDX has 2 HD-SDI outs and 1 SD-SDI out.

    Here's the word from Avid-

This is only true for 1080p/23.976. We won’t have full-quality simultaneous down-convert until DeMille-B releases.

All other formats that support downconvert can be simultaneously output as in HD and SD.
